Who stands behind 613 kg of cocaine? Minister Xhafaj with two different stances

Two former General Prosecutors are the defence lawyers the only two suspects who were detained for 613 kg of cocaine, the driver and the manager of the transportation company.

Both lawyers, Maksim Haxhia and Petrit Serjani, claim that their clients are simple workers with just a 200 EUR salary a month. However, the fees of these lawyers are 10 times higher than the monthly pay of their clients.

Both former Prosecutor Generals have defended important political figures in the past. Petrit Serjani has defended the suspects of the “Xibraka” trial, when a cocaine lab was seized and two Columbian citizens were arrested.

The Prosecution suspects that both 25-year-old defendants were aware of the drug quantity they were managing in the truck.

Although the owner on the run has escaped in Germany, investigators cannot say who hides behind the cocaine. Also they don’t whether of Arbri Garden has carried out other drug shipments.

The Interior Minister himself, Fatmir Xhafaj, said on Twitter that the operation was carried out in cooperation with local and foreign agencies.

But the involvement of foreign agencies, which could be the American DEA or the Livorno police, was denied within the same day.

Within a short time, the Minister Interior added on Twitter that this super operation was conducted by the State Police and Customs, denying that foreigners were involved.

Without removing any merit from the Albanian Police for the Prosecution of Serious Crimes, the first question is how can these mistakes happen with a bust of 613 kg of cocaine?

In the meantime, there are only two suspects arrested, while the manager of the company, Arbri Cekaj is on the run.
