
US, UK, Germany, France and Italy expressed their stance about the
latest developments in Northern Kosovo by making it clear to Serbia that
this situation has no turning back.
According to RTK, the Western Powers are proposing a new formula for controlling the border checkpoints, as warned by the EU envoy, Robert Cooper.
Thaci: Border changes, domino effect
Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi declared for Serbia and EU that changing Kosovo borders would mean reopening the same topic all over Balkan. Thaçi underlined that even after the latest events in Northern Kosovo, the status quo will have no turning back.
“Our red lines with Belgrade are very clear”, Thaçi declared during an urgent government meeting.
Speaking about the meeting with the EU official Robert Cooper, Thaçi underlined that he reconfirmed to him Kosovo’s EU aspirations.
Thaci: No turning back
Kosovo Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi, declared that there will be no turning back, and that the Kosovo Police operation in the northern territory was undertaken on legal and constitutional bases, in order to establish law and order all over Kosovo.
After a meeting with the head of EULEX, Xavier Bout de Marnhac, the Kosovo Prime Miniter declared that no European country would ever allow one part of its territory to remain as a black hole on the map.
According to Kosovapress, De Marnhac expressed his concern about the latest developments in Kosovo, while he appealed for calm, saying that the only solution to the problems is dialogue.
“No violence of any kind should ever be tolerated. The only solution is the dialogue with EULEX, which has always supported the establishment of Customs control in the entire Kosovo territory”, EULEX leader declared.
