The Western Balkan countries will sign an agreement this April 4th, to remove the Roaming services for telecommunication. Kosovo is also part of this agreement.

The Roaming fees are what citizens pay when they use the same phone number as they are traveling to another country, and most of the times it is almost higher than the normal fee.

Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Serbia) are expected to sign the agreement in the second Digital Summit that will be held in Belgrade.

Kosovo’s Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka, who is expected to be present at this summit in Belgrade, said for Radio Free Europe that Kosovo is ready to finalize all necessary procedures for this agreement.

The agreement will be implemented by July 2021st, but the lower fees will enter in effect by July 2019.
