Drinking water is one of the biggest problems in the Durres Beach area and the city itself.
Several months after the summer season and the increased demand for water, some projects were implemented for increasing the supply.
A new 35 million ALL aqueduct is currently under construction, while another one will supply water for 15.000 families.
“We have been able to supply the entire Durrs for two hours a day. We have other areas, such as Shkozet, that need interventions. I think that by the end of the year we will increase the water supply for institutions”, declared Doklead Ademi, director of the Durres Aqueduct.
The most problematic areas are those around the beach and along the Fushe-Kruje road, while the water losses in the “Ish Keneta” area have been fixed.
The tourist season seems promising for this year, as regards the tourist areas. But the city itself has been suffering the lack of water for many years during summer.
