The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, declared that he had his
constitutional right to return the waste import law, underlining that there was a high civil awareness
for this draft-law.

“In these conditions, the civil interest must come before the profits”, the President declared.

During a meeting with students from different parts of Albania and the head of the OSCE presence in Tirana, the Ambassador Eugen Wollfarth – who presented in the meeting the project “Building an Active Civil Society” – the President expressed his high consideration for this initiative by valuing the integration values.

“I want to thank the OSCE that sees the need to assist with the democracy principles. The communication culture and ethics are essential in democracy”, the President declared, adding that together with the ambassador they have shared the concern for the harsh rhetoric used in politics.

The head of the Albanian state expressed his readiness to respond to the curiosity of the students for the functioning of the President, his constitutional competences and the organizing of the daily institutional activity or other important issues.
