The 100th anniversary of independence has brought to the authorities’
attention dozens of figures of our history who have stayed in the
shadow, although they contributed to the construction of the first
Albanian state.
In a special ceremony in Vlore, Mayor Shpetim Gjika honoured several war heroes, such as Musa Ademi and the former KLA fighter, Ramush Haradinaj.
The Municipality of Vlore issued the high title “Capital of Independence”.
Mayor Gjika valued the role of the patriots and asked the honouring of all of the figures who contributed in Albania’s independence and the consolidation of the Albanian state.
Gjika and the opposition leader, Edi Rama, inaugurated the statue of Isa Boletini in Vlore.
