On March 27th, 1999, the Monumental Complex of the Prizren League took serious damage from the Serbian army.

188 museum items, which were there as evidence of the past centuries, were completely burned down.

This included documents, photographs and personal items of Ymer Prizreni, and other personalities.

“Most of the items were reproduced and some are original. We were able to retrieve some from relatives and relevant institutions”, said Parim Kosova, responsible of the Munumental Complex of the Prizren League.

To avoid responsibility, the Serbian army had placed a bomb inside the museum to make it seem it was done by NATO.

“It was verified that there were no attacks from NATO that night”, Kosova said.
