Gjergj Tusha, wanted by the Albanian and Italian police, was arrested in
Tirana during a police operation near Tirana’s downtown.

Gjok Tusha from Lezha, resident of the Albanian capital, was wanted by the Police for a crime that took place two years ago in Durres, where he allegedly wounded three people, Leonard Laska, Abdulla Osmani and the Azerbaijani citizen, Turall Maturov.

Despite the strong suspicions for a conflict over a considerable amount of money, the police gave no official details about the motive. The police also arrested Tusha’s driver, who was left free afterwards.

A police source declared that Tusha was wanted by the Italian justice over drug traffic, while they are also investigating a Lezhe police officer who has allegedly falsified documents for Tusha. The suspicions are that the officer falsified documents that made it look like Tusha was in Albania during the period when the Italian police was investigating him over drug traffic charges in Italy.
