The President of Serbia, Alexandar Vucic, hinted that Belgrade could recognize Kosovo as a sovereign state, but that would require something in exchange.
Vucic said for the Italian News Agency “ANSA” that first they need to find compromise: “We cannot recognize Kosovo without benefiting anything. I am sure that with the help of our European friends, and with the support of Russia, USA, China and other countries, we can achieve a solution”, Vucic said.
Prishtina and Belgrade are under international pressure for normalizing their relations, which is the main condition for their European path.
The Presidents of Serbia and Kosovo have mentioned several times that a possible border change could create the right conditions for an agreement.
