Vlore Citizens gathered in a peaceful meeting against the mafia-style murder of Judge Skerdilajd Konomi.

The meeting under the motto “together against crime” had as participants Vlore citizens, relatives of the judge, colleagues and local administration leaders. The citizens demanded more security for their life and finding the murders of Judge Konomi through banners saying “Vlore is Free”, “Criminals to justice”.

The protesters marched on the main boulevard and stopped at the location where Judge Konomi was killed, placing flowers besides his photo.

High Council of Justice: Criminals to be brought to justice

The Vice Chairman of the High Council of Justice, Kreshnik Spahiu, declared that the judicial system is expecting the investigation institutions to announce the names of the macabre crime, the murder of Judge Skerdilajd Konomi, and bring them to justice.

“We are expecting justice not only for Judge Konomi, but for establishing in our country the state authority, which is obviously damaged by this crime. Many serious crimes against justice authorities have remained unsolved, but such a precedent must be solved”, Spahiu declared.

One day before this important HCJ meeting, Spahiu declared that the other judges’ life is endangered.

The US Ambassador, Alexander Arvizu, considered this crime as horrible and appealed the police and prosecution to cooperate for solving the murder.
