Ferry travels from Vlore to Italy have been suspended for the past two
weeks, due to a problem caused on the only ferry of this line.
The Vlore Port director said the situation is unprecedented and that it has brought huge damage to the port, businesses and citizens.
“This situation has created damages for the entire city of Vlore. Every operator has left our city, and are now working with other lines”, said Director Admir Malaj.
The Chairman of the Vlore Chamber of Commerce, Arben Breshajaj, reacted and said that this will cause huge damage to businesses.
“This is a very bad sign for businesses in our city and even wide. This is the entrance gate for all of our businesses. Let’s get together and buy a ferry of our own. We cannot go on like this. It is not the first time that this happens”, Breshanaj said.
A Vlore Port without a ferry means that tourists, citizens and businesses will have to use the Durres Port during all this time.
