Vjosa River raised to scary level, 1500 evacuated as more floods expected

The level of the Vjosa River, near Permet, has increased to a scary point, showing that fields along its vally, in Fier and Vlora, may be flooded soon.

The army is evacuating residents and cattle from areas that have been flooded before. Electricity is missing in many areas.

Top Channel’sreport on site, Gazmend Jaku, reported from the Mifoli Bridge, where he said that Vjosa has raised its level with 1 meter in a few hours.

Weather Forecast alerts for more precipitations during the night, while the Emergency Headquarters in Fier reported that they have evacuated 1500 residents.

The situation remains problematic in Novosela.
