A virus spread through Albania this summer has infected hundreds of
children and adults, and it intoxicates the entire organism.
The Tirana Pediatric Hospital ER hosts 250-300 children each day who come with body temperature, diarrhea and vomiting. Parents say that the virus takes long to wear off and makes children have no appetite and be very inactive.
Doctors advise parents to ask for medical help as soon as they see their children with high temperature and vomiting. The advice that the children should drink a lot of fluids during the day and stay in controlled temperatures. This virus might have spread with the drinking water or any kind of food.
The ER of infective diseases at the Tirana Hospital has 80 patients each day, of different ages coming with the same symptoms. There have been many cases when the citizens have arrived unconscious. The virus has been circulating for several weeks and the number of affected people is high.
