The number of viral flues in our country has increased. 13.000 have been
affected only this week, which according to the specialists has
increase compared to one week ago.
The Director of Policies at the Health Ministry, Pellumb Pipero, underlines that although the epidemic situation is calm, the most endangered groups should start taking the vaccine for the seasonal flu.
“We have entered in the period of seasonal flu, and although the situation is calm, this is the right period for the vaccination. Right after the vaccine, the body needs two weeks to gain complete immunity. Our experience and the recommendations of the World Health Organization show that the vaccine is needed for all citizens after 6 months of age”, Pipero declared.
Pipero declared that a priority for the vaccination are children from 6 months to 4 years of age, pregnant women, senior citizens, chronic patients and people with pulmonary, cardio-vascular, diabetes and blood diseases. Specialists say that the AH1N1 flu is present this year again.
The Health Ministry opened the vaccination campaign, giving a priority to the vaccination of health employees who are in constant contact with the patients.
