Violent youth

Teens say that most of the reasons that cause a fight are banal, a harsh word said around the school corridors or social networks. Many of these conflicts have degenerated to clashes with knifes and handguns, and not only between boys. Students say that they need more security measures in the school premises.

Teachers avoid interviews with the media, facing such difficult situations with the youth.

Only the director of the Sami Frasheri high school declared for Top Channel that physical violence can be avoided by increasing the cooperation between students, parents and teachers.

The psychologist of this school, Valbona Treska, says that most of the fights are caused by banal disputes, most of them of Facebook, about girls and about being in the center of attention.

“In some cases, boys become jealous for girls and a small element is enough for erupting in physical and verbal violence. We usually call the parents of the people that are involved in this episode of violence and take disciplinary measures. When the parent understands how the child has acted, he is part of the rehabilitation process. This cooperation is very useful”, Treska declared.

The schools of Tirana have very strong measures and it is almost impossible to enter, but the problems are caused inside the building. Some private schools are committed to make physical searches for weapons that can be used during a fight.

Korçë, student attacks school directors

A 17 year old has offended and physically attacked the director and vice director of the Naum Veqilharxhi school in Korce.

The young boy has entered a class to create disorder, but the teacher has sent him away by asking the help of the two main directors of the school. The boy has attacked them verbally and then physically.

The teachers have asked the help of the police and have reported the crime.
