The State Police have suspended a police officer who was filmed using
violence against a minor while he was taken to the police station.
The General State Police declared that they have started the discipline procedures for the code violations.
“The State Police guarantees the public opinion that we are committed to guarantee public order by fully respecting the law and human rights, and no violation or abuse will be allowed by the police officers”, the press release states.
A minor who tried to steal a flag and use it at his house balcony was beaten and handcuffed by the police. The beating was filmed and posted on youtube.
Civil representatives joined to write a letter to the Interior Ministry, the Ombudsman, the Police Directory and all respective institutions so that urgent measures can be taken for police officers who use violence against minors.
