The President of the Physicians Order, Dine Abazi, asked the justice
institutions to punish people who attack doctors, based on the recent
case of the surgeon in Kukes.
Often doctors fall prey of the violence of the patients’ relatives and according to Dine, they are not punished.
“We have to cases of violence in Kukes, and other in Vlore, Berat and Tirana. Despite the protest of the doctors, we have never heard any aggressor being brought to justice. I ask the authorities to take energetic measures for restoring doctors’ dignity”.
On the other hand, the President of the Physicians Order asked the punishment of the doctors who oblige patients to take service in their private clinics and doctors who leave the official hours by offering their services in private hospitals and clinics.
“This handicap comes from the lack of accountability by their directors. Many people have noted this and they have been obliged to enter in debt for being cured in private clinics, when they could have received the right cure in state hospitals”.
According to Dine Abazi, the hospital directors do not control their doctors for the quality they offer and the respecting of shifts.
The physician’s order will cooperate with the Health Ministry to fight this phenomenon by even revoking licenses.
