One day after the US Ambassador insinuated that the DP was delaying the
Vetting law because they feared justice, the biggest party of the
opposition reacted and stood to their version of a wrong translation of
the Venice Commission Law.
Democratic Party MP, Oerd Bylykbashi, presented a series of what he calls evidence that the Vetting Law was intentionally deformed.
“DP has supported removal of corrupted Prosecutors since the moment when the Constitutional amends were passed. But you cannot do this by manipulating with translation. On October 25th, the Constitutional Court was pressured by the majority to send the law to the Venice Commission, and they sent it to Venice on October 28th.Official contacts show the translation was made by Euralius. The Venice Commission made full transparency with the documents published online. They have both the law with the wrong text, and the translated one that was sent later. Other websites, including EURALIUS, have removed their previous translations from their websites”, Bylykbashi declared.
“DP experts presented this deformation of the law at the Constitutional Court, which sent it back to the Venice Commission and undertook another translation with licensed experts from the Ministry of Justice. We need to know which is the state authority that wanted to manipulate with such wrong translations. The Constitutional Court sent the official translation, which is correct, and the Venice Commission has published this variant by removing the older one. There is also another big mistake. The Venice Commission says that the first version of the law is not October 28th, neither November 16th, but October 16th. Who had interest to send the Venice Commission to a wrong direction?”, Bylykbashi added, saying that the opposition is ready to make everything possible for the Justice Reform to be on the right track, so that the PM and his Minister will face justice, according to him.
When asked by Top Channel: “You just asked who could have lied about this. US Ambassador said that the DP is lying, and they quote the Constitutional Court who says that the translation differences are not substantial. Do you have any answer for this?”
MP Oerd Bylykbashi: Facts show the truth. These are the documents sent by the Albanian authorities to Venice. Anyone can find the truth individually. There is no room for interpretation. The translation sent on October 16th to Venice from a state authority is the one recognized by the Constitutional Court of coming from EURALIUS. They must find who stands behind this manipulation. We have waited more than week to find a solution, and since there are efforts to deform truth and tell the public opinion that the DP is using another version, this is not true. The DP has taken the draft 24 hours before it was approved, in Albanian. You need to investigate this.

Oerd Bylykbashi: This is not what we need to resolve. These documents were sent by authorities whose interest is to pass the law against the Constitution. The translation makes the anti-constitutional truth less visible and manipulates the opinion of the Venice Commission. If someone has a different opinion, it’s their problem.
Top Channel: You said that EURALIUS has removed translations from their website. Have you contacted with them to clarify this?
Oerd Bylykbashi: We made our verifications at the Constitutional Court and Venice. The Head of this Mission is not in Albania right now. Another person is giving information regarding the drafts that were published, and when were they published. But this is not our problem. The fact stands that at this moment, there is no English translation version on the website of this mission. As confirmed by the President of the Constitutional Court, the translation comes from EURALIUS. These are the facts that are enough to shed light on the truth, in our opinion.
