The most important phase of the decriminalization law is the
verification of the data written on the self-declaration applications.
The decriminalization law, approved with consensus weeks ago, says that there are 16 institutions which will make the first verifications of the applications filled by public officials.
The Central Election Commission will verify the applications of MPs and Mayors; the Public Administration Department will verify the PAD employees, the High Council of Justice will verify Prosecutors and Judges, the Parliament will verify the leaders of constitutional institutions that are appointed by them.
The Presidency will verify the ambassadors of our country in the world, the Secret Serbice Director, the Chairman of the Science Academy, the Rectors of Universities, the Chief of Staff, the Commanders of Armed Forces and any other public official appointed by him, except for the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
The Prime Ministry, the Prefect, the Secret Service Director and the Chief of Police are also listed as institutions that make verifications. The verification will be done in the weeks to come, as provided by the law. If there will be false declarations, each of these institutions will address to the General Prosecution.
