The Democratic Party MP, Eduard Halimi, said that the draft of the
Venice Commission for the Justice Reform expressed concern for a
political capturing of the justice system.

“We were encouraged by the fact that the Venice Commission accepts the concerns raised by the opposition for capturing the justice system, concerns that wre widely addressed in all paragraphs of the Venice Commission opinion. It finds the same concerns as the opposition”, Halimi said.

Same as his Socialist counterpart, Fatmir Xhafa, Halimi has also said that whoever reads the Venice Commission differently is against the reform. He added that the draft expresses very clearly the need for political dialogue.

“It clearly states the need for political dialogue in approving the constitutional package. It is clear today who was against political dialogue. The majroity must create the necessary conditions for political dialogue, because it is the only way to plan the constitutional amends, as the Venice Commission says. Whoever reads it differently, is wrong”, Halimi said.

As for the Bureau of Investigations, Halimi said it is clear that this institution cannot be under government control.
