The Commission of Venice and the ODIHR presented their evaluations and recommendations for the electoral reform in Albania.

The project for the electoral reform was planned by two experts who suggest improvement in several clauses. The recommendations were based on the Albanian local elections problematic.

The experts declared that it must be clearly specified how the miscast ballots will be treated.

The miscast ballot count created a series of controversies and a strong political clash in the recent local elections.

A few days ago, the Parliamentary Commission for the Electoral Reform started working for the first time, and the participators expressed their optimism for the achievement of this consensus.

The first consensual decisions of the Commission were technical, including the establishment of the expert group.

The works for the reform was also greeted by the international factor, especially the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Stefan Fule, and also other European MPs.

The EU Ambassador in Tirana, Ettore Sequi, declared in an interview for Top Channel that the will for consensus and reforms is a very good news, mostly related with the electoral reform.
