The Tirana half-marathon is ready for its third edition. There are more than 5000 runners, many of whom children.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj; the Greek ambassador, Eleni Sourani; the organizer of the Athens’ Marathon, Spiro Zakaris; presented the details of the marathon in a joint press release that will start Monday 09:00.
Veliaj thanked the Greek guests for the symbolic gift they brought to the Tirana Marathon, olive wreaths sent from the Marathon area, near Athens, where the race originates from.
“It is very important that Greece and Albania have excellent relations between them, and also that the Mayors of Athens and Tirana have a very good friendship, the same as our people. The governments, leaders and ambassadors are changed, but the people remain. This is an investment for the relations between our people”, Veliaj said.
