The Tirana Municipality started the discussion phase with experts for the regulation plan of the Albanian capital city.
Mayor Erion Veliaj said that the construction permits are a small part of the plan, since most of the attention will go to urbanization.
“We cannot undo what has been done so far, but we will bring to life the areas that suffer today from the past mistakes. The purpose is to bring service where it is needed”, Veliaj said.
The Mayor underlined that we should be creative to face the need for social infrastructure. According to him, even Barcelona once had problems similar to those Tirana is facing today.
He declared he was open to make the Skenderbej square even more functional, while they are working to restructure it.
