The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, met today with national theater artists about the new building project.
Veliaj said that the current situation of the National Theater is deplorable. He compared it with Tirana’s “New Market”.
Veliaj added that even for the New Market there had been life threats, but people are now happy with the new product and the others changed their mind.
The Mayor asked artists, who oppose the demolishing of the old theater and the construction of a new one, to elect a representation group to discuss the National Theater.
