The Tirana Aqueduct has a 60 million EUR debt and 70% of the water gets
loss in the network. For this reason, all car washes that use drinking
water will be removed. The operation will start from the Artificial Lake
area.
Citizens will start paying more taxes with the water bill, which will increase their fee with 12000 ALL a year.
On the international day of water, Mayor Veliaj signed an agreement with the USAID and Aqueduct Director. This agreement will start a pilot project for supplying water 24/7 in two areas of the Albanian capital, Ali Demi and Kodra e Priftit.
