25/06/2011 11:20

US President Barack Obama extended the national emergency status towards Western Balkan countries with another year.

This executive order bans fund transfers to bank accounts of people that support violence or other extreme acts in Macedonia and the remaining part of Western Balkans, and to persons that impede the peace process in Kosovo and Bosnia.

Almost 200 persons have been identified as subjects to this order. The executive order was issued for the first time in 2001, due to the conflict in Macedonia. After extending this order, US President said that the efforts for international peace and stability in Western Balkan are still threatened.
