US State Department sources: “US Ambassador’s term will be extended”

The US Ambassador to Albania, Donald Lu, will keep his duty until August 2018.
The news was confirmed by Top Channel sources at the US State Department.
Lu’s term concludes this January, but he will keep representing Washington until next summer.
The next months will be very important for implementing the Vetting Law of the Judiciary Reform, for which Lu was personally engaged during his service in Albania.
However, the extension of his term is not unprecedented. Other predecessors have also stayed in duty longer.
