The US Embassy welcomes the progress that Albania has made with the fight against organized crime and corruption.
The Court’s decision to leave Saimir Tahiri in house arrest is a sign that this important corruption case will be treated justly and with transparency from the court.
The arrest of Met Kanani in Turkey and of 14 members of his criminal gang in Albania shows that the Prosecution and Police is does a serious job about targeting the organized crime.
The arrest of Arber Cekaj in Germany shows that impunity has come to an end for criminal bosses in this country.
We congratulate the work of the Police, the Prosecution and Judges of Serious Crimes.
