All premises and funds of the Albanogy Center have been reconstructed after being for years in a pitiful state.

The 100.000 USD grant received by the US Embassy for the cultural heritage has changed not only the premises, but has also made possible to exploit the funds for research.

Ardian Marashi, Director of the Albanogy Study Center, says that they have revitalized the Apolonia archeologic funds, the archeologic funds of Korca, and now have arrived in a phase of intensive study, after an intensive phase of archeologic excavation.

Lindita Nikolla, Minister of Education, says: “For the first time, the Ambassador’s fund for the cultural heritage was entirely dedicated to the realization of this project”.

“This Ministry of Culture is also responsible and interested to create safe conditions for every archeologic object and every discovery. What is underground, is protected by the soil. When it comes up, it is our responsibility to preserve it”, declared the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro.

The US Ambassador, Alexander Arvizu, declared that he is happy that this fund helped preserving the history of Albania: “The project that we are inaugurating today will make sure that precious artifacts kept in this building will be preserved for the other generations. This is a necessary renewal for preserving important fragments of the Albanian history, and to offer to the researchers a space for studying the nation’s history”.
