US appeals for peace in Northern Kosovo

The US Government appealed for the violence to stop in Northern Kosovo and to preserve calmness.
The Spokesperson of the US State Department spoke from a press conference in which he mentioned the Mitrovice incident, where one Serbian citizen died and two others were wounded, saying that both parties should remain calm and lower tensions.
“We want to see calmness, not violence”, declared the spokesperson Mark Toner.
The UN Spokesperson in New York, Martin Nesirky, declared that the competent authorities in Kosovo should make a full investigation for the incident.
Spokesperson Nesirky reiterated the declaration of the UNMIK Chairmna, Farid Zarif, that such incidents were unacceptable and could threaten peace and security in Kosovo.
