James Gilmore, the US Ambassador at the OSCE, was asked by Top Channel’s envoy in Vienna, Muhamet Veliu, about his opinion on Albania’s OSCE leadership.
“I think that it represents the respect that 57 countries have for Albania.
“The Foreign Minister was very eloquent while explaining the progress made by your country, the evolution towards democracy.
“It is truly impressive that after a tragedy like that of the earthquake you were able to come here and offer leadership to the other countries.
“The USA are proud that Albania will be the new head of the OSCE”, said ambassador Gilmore.
Muhamed Veliu: What is your opinion on the fact that Iran also threatened Albania yesterday?
“I wasn’t aware, but my declaration is very clear in this case as well: the USA will protect itself.
“We are ready for peace. We shall do everything for peace.
“But we shall not allow our American citizens to be under attack”.
