The US Ambassador to Tirana, Donald Lu, declared at the conference against human traffic that Albania needs the government to give political commitment and issue traffic victims funds the soonest possible.
“It is not about finding a shelter for traffic victims, but giving them financial security and confidence. The government in Albania needs to offer political commitment and give the traffic victims’ funds the soonest possible”, Lu said.
The Ambassador added that the human traffic cannot be resolved without intensive regional cooperation.
“The US State Department knows this and has given monthly grants to support the governments and NGO-s in this cooperation”, Lu declared.
