University Professor arrested for bribe

The Elbasan Police has arrested a professor at the Journalism Faculty at the Elbasan University, the 30-year-old Isidor Koti.

According to the local police, Koti was arrested in the act, while taking money in exchange of a passing grade.

Sources say that Koti asked 10.000 ALL or 100 EUR. The police seized 300.EUR and 84.000 ALL as evidence.

According to the Elbasan Police Spokesperson, Valbona Bregu, used to meet his students outside the University, after the working hours.

The Police had been investigating the professor for several months, but his arrest was not made possible because of the lack of evidence.

Isidor Koti, a resident of Tirana, is accused of passive corruption of public officials.

Earlier this year the Elbasan Police arrested Pellumb Klogjeri, the Math professor of this university.

Police sources say that the operation is continuing for other members of the “Alexander Xhuvani” University who asks students for money in exchange of grades.
