Universities fees to increase

The new financial draft for the Albanian universities provides an increase of the yearly payment.

The Ministry of Education warned that the public debate is expected to start this October and that the new fee is still to be determined.

This financial scheme will be implemented by 2013, and will benefit all private universities that result as non-profit.

This scheme provides that the universities will be financed based on the number of students. The Universities with a greater number of students will have a higher payment.

But the scheme has been opposed by most of the public universities, which say that the criteria for Private Universities are not the same with the public ones, even for the selection of the new students.
