Two police officers arrested

The Prosecution and the Police is clashing again for the arrest orders,
which have been previously noted between the institutions even for the
order-arrests of January 21st.

As for the National Guard Officers it was the Police who considered the Prosecution’s arrest-orders illegal, this time it is the Prosecution who say that their arrest, made by the Interior Inspection Service is illegal.

As consequence, Judge Luan Hasneziri admitted that their arrest is illegal, but however, the arrest measure against Eugen Beci and Njazi Seferi was given, one for power abuse and the other for false testimony.

This means that every action taken by the authorities, every declaration given by the police officers for the September 13th events that left Adem Tahiri killed will be considered invalid. According to the Prosecution, it was a competency of the IIS to arrest the two police officers from the Shijak District, Gosturani and Hoxha, but this decision was to be executed only if asked by the Prosecution and not by initiative of the IIS, since they were not caught in the act and there are no suspicions that the defendants might leave Albania.

The ISS claims that these actions were taken on the day that the Prosecution addressed to the Court and when the latter accepted the Prosecution’s request, what brought parallel investigations of this case. All these stances were held during the closed-door process held for the two officers, for whom the Prosecution also held a miscoordination if they were to be investigated by the Durres Prosecution or the Serious Crimes one.
