Tusk starts Balkan tour with Albania

The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, is attending a visit today in Tirana, meeting with local officials.
Tusk’s visit is part of his three-day tour around Western Balkan.
The purpose of this meeting is related to the preparations for the EU-Balkan summit that the President will hold with Western Balkan countries.
The summit will be held in Skopje, and Tusk is expected to visit Podgorica, Belgrade, Sarajeva as well.
Tusk’s visit comes after the visit of the EU Chief of Foreign Policy, Federica Mogherini, after the European Commission gave a positive recommendation for starting the accession negotiations with Albania.
