During his two-day tour in Southern Albania, the Turkish Ambassador, Ahmet Joruk, stopped in Vlora where he was received by Mayor Dritan Leli.
The Mayor welcomed the Turkish diplomat and thanked him for visiting his city.
For the Turkish Ambassador, who has been on his duty for the past six months, this visit is important not only for the friendly relations between both countries but also for the investments that are expected in the city of Vlora, such as the new airport.
“The first phase of the construction works will employ 1000 people. The negotiations are on a technical level right now”, the Turkish diplomat said.
According to Ambassador Joruk, the consortium that has undertaken the Vlora airport construction is currently building its third airport in Turkey, which will operate with 200 million passengers a year.
The Ambassador confirmed that the first phases of the Vlora airport will start within 2018, and promised that there will e other projects in Albania.
