The US Veteran diplomat, Philip Kosnett, says that America’s stance on Kosovo and Serbia has not changed.
Kosnett, Trump’s envoy as future ambassador to Kosovo, spoke in front of the Senate Committee for Foreign Relations. He was asked by Senator Chris Murphy about the comments of Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, who said that America’s stance is now closer to Serbia, after meeting with him and the White House adviser, Jared Kushner.
“Our stance has not changed. We support EU intermediated dialogue. We think that it is critical that both countries advance to overcome old tensions. We think that it is crucial that both countries discuss new ideas. This is not a code-word for covering the idea of territory exchange. We want to see what ideas will both governments present. Our long-term strategic purpose is to see stability in the region, a solution of old disagreement between both countries so that they can improve their relations with Western countries”, Kosnett declared.
