Three citizens who were trapped in a water well have been found without signs of life today in the village of Dushnik in Berat.
The grave accident took the lives of Kamber Hoxha, Neim Hoxha and Gentian Golashi.
Top Channel’s Anila Hoxha was at the scene talking to Neki Hoxha, a relative of the victims (Kamber Hoxha’s brother).
He stated that first Kamber Hoxha entered the well and was trying to remove the steps of the well and then fill it with soil because it had dried up, but apparently the gas asphyxiated him. To save him, his nephew (his sister’s son) Gentian Golashi immediately went down, and then his nephew’s son Neim Hoxha, but both of them tragically were left asphyxiated.
“My brother was filling up the well with soil. He was trying to shut it, he didn’t know it was full of gas. My brother was blocked inside. The nephew, the sister’s son, Gentian also was trapped there. Neimi’s other son also entered and was trapped. The extraction of the bodies was delayed a little over an hour. I saw the firefighters in the street and the stepped out of the way for them as I didn’t know where they were going. ” said Neki Hoxha.
