The British newspaper “The Daily Star Sunday”, with the title “Torture
boss cost you £100k”, writes that Ilir Kumbaro cost the British state
around 100.000 pounds, and now there is an international arrest order
for him.

The newspaper says that today they can fully uncover the alleged torturer’s sickening web of lies which conned UK authorities for more than a decade – and netted him the six-figure sum in benefits.

The Daily Star Sunday says that he was granted asylum and even got a British passport under the name Shaqa Shatri, the identity of a real Kosovan he had taken for himself.

He lied: “I was warned by the police that if I participated in any further demonstrations I would be imprisoned and killed.”

The British newspaper continues with the article saying that he even used that passport to take a trip to China. Sickeningly, Kumbaro landed himself a council flat and at least a decade of incapacity and housing benefits, claiming he was too depressed to work because he feared his wife and children had been killed in Kosovo.

He claimed he was having “bad dreams” after seeing his cousin and friends lying dead after being shot by Serb police in Kosovo.

In fact when police swooped on his Fulham flat in 2008 they found a woman they believed was his wife Vjolica. He is also thought to have two sons living in Britain, according to the newspaper.

What the medics also did not know was that far from being a torture victim, the former senior officer in Albania’s notorious SHIK security service was suspected of the kidnap and torture of Avdyl Loshaj, Zison Kristopulli and Remzi Hoxha.

The newspaper quotes A UK Border Agency source: “Kumbaro is an intelligent, calculating man who clearly was able to play the system here to give a convincing account to immigration officials that he was a victim of torture and to claim benefits.

The British media adds that Kumbaro’s son Endrit has lost a £10,000 surety after his dad failed to appear at court last week. At Endrit’s home in Forest Hill, south-east London, a woman saying she was Endrit’s wife said her husband was in Paris.

Soon after, she and her child left the home with luggage and were driven off by friends, according to Daily Star Sunday.
