Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The NDS leader (New Democratic Spirit) held a meeting with the chairmen
of the NDS branches throughout Albania to discuss the election process
of the electoral candidates who, according to Topi, will be chosen
through a very democratic process and will guarantee a decent
representation.
“On June 23rd, NDS will reach its political goal and will enter the Parliament”, Topi declared by also mentioning the concerns regarding the electoral lists, which are not public yet. According to the NDS leader, the local governments justify these delays with the lack of funds.
Topi spoke once again for the media and its role, by also mentioning the recent attack against Top Channel.
“Recently we have seen pressure against Top Channel, which is being brutally evicted from its premises. Some media outlets are attacked while others are stimulated with undeserved taxpayers’ money. The Albanian Public Television is a bunker that attacks independent institutions which do not cooperate with the government”, Topi declared.
The NDS leader expressed his concern for what he called an attempt to make a surreal prediction of the elections.
“The elections are being predicted once again based on the results of 2009”, Topi declared, saying that the Albanian society has entered a phase of uncertainty.
The Prime Minister appealed the opposition leader to protect the elections from Berisha, since he is used to manipulate them, according to Topi.
“He suffers from a chronicle disease, which is manipulating the results. He does each time he is afraid from the public’s vote”, the former Albanian President declared.
As for Rama, he added:
“He’s not happy when I mention him in my discussions. He is the opposition leader, and he has made dozens of mistakes by dreaming the same thing as Berisha. Dreams related to unlimited power. The minimal thing he should do, is protect the Albanians’ vote”, Topi declared.
He appealed the Albanian citizens to see June 23rd as an important date and answer back to this government with their votes.
