Topi: DP and SP as beggars

The former Albanian President, Bamir Topi, declared from Berat that
Lirak Bejko was a persecuted man during the communist dictatorship and
also during the democratic transition. Topi gave this declaration during
the inauguration of the newest New Democratic Spirit branch in Berat,
where they held one minute of silence for Bejko.

Bamir Topi criticized both biggest political forces saying that they were separated from the DP and the SP on the moment that democracy stopped working.

The former Albanian president declared that 22 years after the system changed, we still have serious problems with democracy.

“Both political forces come to meet the citizens only on the verge of campaigns. We have seen them become very polite and obedient as tamed animals before the Election Day, until they take the lion’s position and ignore the others by changing their attitude. Albania has reached progress in these years, but it is unacceptable that today there are still problems with democracy”, Topi declared.

Topi declared in Berat that he felt proud when as President made the presentation of this ancient city.

“It was a proud moment when I introduced the town of Berat to the highest levels, because our history should be appreciated. I started it with the history, because it is an obligation for every politician to know and value the past, but also to project the future. We have come with this decision, to crate a new democratic spirit, because it was not simply an initiative of some founders, but also a need for creating a new political force”, Topi declared.

NDS presented yesterday in Tirana the 19 department leaders of this party, and former President Topi apologized to the Albanian people for not stopping Sali Berisha.
