Topi: Continuing the legislative reforms

The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, declared that the legislative and
institutional reforms in the entire judicial system are very significant
for synchronizing them with the best European countries.

During a meeting at the Presidency with the Chairman of the Austrian Supreme Court, Irmgard Gris, the Albanian President, also in his quality as Chairman of the High Council of Justice, noted that there is a qualitative legal frame, modern and in full accordance with the European standards, but to guarantee an effective justice it is needed to fully implement these laws of a professional judicial system, impartial and independent from any political influence”.

On her behalf, Gris expressed her impressions for the judicial reforms that are being implemented in Albania, which must continue as a long-term and important process, noted that a real independent judicial system doesn’t have only friends.”

“The judicial system plays an important role for fulfilling the integration aspirations of the country, and a consistent perfection would increase Albania’s prestige in the international arena”, Gris declared.
