The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, who is attending an official
visit in Hungary, met the country’s highest personalities and focused
on the economic cooperation, the growth of investments and promoting
Albania’s image.

Agreeing on the idea that although Albania is a small country, it offers great potentials and investments opportunities, the Hungarian PM Orban promised to Topalli the establishment of a common economic Commission.

The priority of this commission will be infrastructure, agriculture and tourism investments.

PM Orban expressed his conviction that in these moments of the Eurozone crisis, the best solution is to open and not close the EU enlargement process.

According to the Hungarian PM, the best way for strengthening Europe is accepting Albania as a member country, because, in his opinion, this is not only a dream of the Albanians, but a necessity for Europe itself.

“The best way to strengthen Europe is to accept Albania as part of the EU, because Europe is not as strong as it should be now. If we want to become stronger as European Union, we need new states, new forces, new motivation and new nations. This is for the own good of the European Union”, Orban declared.

Albania and Hungary hold ancient friendship relations. Next year marks the 90th anniversary of good relations between the countries.

Since this event coincides with the 100th anniversary of independence, the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, agreed with PM Orban and the Hungarian President, Pál Schmitt, to organize common events that will mark an important moment for promoting Albania’s image.

The Hungarian President, who used to be Parliament Speaker, accepted Mrs. Topalli’s invitation for being in Tirana on next November, a day that would mark the culminating celebrations of the 100th anniversary of independence.
