The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, is attending a two
day visit in Skopje, invited by the Macedonian Parliament Speaker,
Trajko Veljanovski.

On the first day of her visit, Topalli met the leaders of the Albanian parties in Macedonia. In the meeting with the majority’s BDI Party leader, Ali Mehmeti, Mrs. Topalli expressed Albania’s readiness to help Macedonia in its NATO integration road. They also discussed the reinforcing of the cooperation between the institutions of both countries.

“With Mrs.Topalli we spoke about progress, the Ochrid Agreement, Macedonia’s NATO integration, the dialogue regarding Macedonia’s EU membership, the common investments asd the infrastructure. These were the key topics discussed with Mrs. Topalli”, declared Ali Ahmeti, BDI leader.

The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, met the opposition’s PDSH leader, Menduh Thaci. They discussed about the situation of the Albanians in Macedonia and the recent ethnic incidents.

“Certainly, we spoke about those issues too. My evaluation would be that maybe one of the incidents might have been spontaneous, but most of them were the result of an anti-Albanian climate offered by this government, which makes even more difficult the blockage of the EU integration process and all other problems of Macedonia”, declared Menduh Thaci, PDSH leader.

After meeting the Albanian leaders in Skopje, Mrs. Topalli visited the museum house of Mother Teresa at the Cairi commune, where she attended a meeting with the deputy Minister for EU integration”,  Teuta Arifi.

On the second day of her visit in Macedonia, Topalli will meet her Macedonian colleague, Trajko Veljanovski, and will hold a greeting speech in front of the Macedonian Parliament.
