The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Mrs. Jozefina Topalli, met today the
head of the OSCE presence in Tirana, Ambassador Eugen Wollfarth.
According to the official Parliament press release, Topalli and Wollfarth discussed on the current political situation and the developments that are expected in the Parliament, where the opposition has been absent since May 8th elections.
But the Parliament press release does not give any detail about the way these issues were treated by the Parliament Speaker and the OSCE Ambassador, who discussed also about the reforms of the EU integration process and for the cooperation between the Parliament with the OSCE mission.
The press release gives more details about the update that the Parliament Speaker gave to ambassador Wollfarth about the offer that the ruling party has made to the opposition, regarding the electoral reform that serves to fulfill the recommendations of OSCE-ODIHR, and also for the cooperation that they offered to the opposition for approving the laws that need a qualified majority.The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, declared that the opposition is welcome to contribute in this process, considering it as a contribution for the country and its EU integration.
