Albania is trying to reinforce the relations with Germany, not only as
the biggest financial contributor for Albania in the last 20 years, but
also due to its leading position in Europe, not only in the political
aspect, but also the economic one.

This was the message given by the Albanian Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, during her meeting with the Chairman of the German Bundestag, Norbert Lammert. Germany is ready to offer help to Albania by consolidating the cooperation between the two Parliaments and by always seeing the European perspective of Albania. The Chairman of the German Bundestag expressed his support to this process.

“This visit shows our interest. It is clear that in the last 5-6 years, we have developed the relations between our Parliaments in such a level that it seems that Albania is already in the EU. This makes it clear that there is a perspective, and we are working for achieving this goal”, Lammert declared.

“We also spoke about the economic situation in a global crisis, when all countries have turned their eyes to Germany, a country that is progressing with optimism in all aspects, not only the economic ones. By becoming a leader of Europe, it is also seen as an opportunity for help. Albania sees Germany with the hope to remain the advocate of the Albanians’ interests”, Topalli declared.

During her visit in Berlin, Mrs. Topalli met the German Chamber of Commerce Board Members and representatives from big German companies, which showed their interest for the real possibilities that Albania offers for foreign investments.
