Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, invited by the President of
the Venice Commission, Xhani Bukikjo, participated at the scheduled
session of the Commission, where was discussed and approved the opinion
of the Commission for Albania.
She was accompanied by the chairmen of the ad-hoc Commission for the Electoral Reform, the MPs Ilir Rusmali and Damian Gjiknuri.
According to the Parliament press release, Topalli made a short presentation of the recent developments with the Electoral Reform, and updated the members with the work of the ad-hoc Commission for the electoral reform.
Speaking about the opinion presented by the Venice Commission experts, Topalli underlined that this opinion is a professional and authoritarian legal document that serves as a working plan for implementing the election recommendations.
The Albanian Parliament speaker appreciated the approach of this opinion regarding the miscast ballots.
The President of the Venice Commission, Gianni Buquicchio, valued the steps taken by the Albanian Parliament, and expressed his readiness for continuing with the cooperation.
