The Central Election Commission reminded to the radio and television
operators the obligation to hand over to Central Election Commission the
official fees for the broadcasting of the political advertisements
during the electoral campaign.
“Based on article 84.5 of the Electoral Code, the radio-television operators are obliged to hand over the fees for every broadcasting segment, five days before the campaign. The deadline has expired, and none of the operators have respected this legal obligation”, the Central Election Commission spokesperson declared.
In respect of the law and the public opinion, Top Channel feels damaged and obliged to refute this declaration by Central Election Commission, which is misinforming the public, which underlined that none of the radio-television operators respected the law.
Top Channel not only has respected the law and all legal deadlines, but has submitted an official document with the advertisement fees since May 16th.
The document was registered to this institution on this date, as confirmed by the correspondence that the Central Election Commission had with Top Channel.
The Central Election Commission declaration, in the best case scenario, shows a lack of functionality and regularity by this institution.
Top Channel asks the Central Election Commission to be careful in their declarations and not misinform the public, by damaging this way the image of Top Channel.
