The Health Ministry reacted this Wednesday and said that Top Channel published deformed numbers about the contract for the PPP management of medical labs.
The ministry claimed that the cost of the agreement will not be 100 million EUR, as Top Channel reported, but 66 million EUR.
Top Channel referred to the official announcement for the medical lab concession, which is the only official document issued so far since the Health Ministry is hiding the full agreement.
This document says: “The value of the calculated agreement, based on the financial support foreseen for its entire duration, is 13 billion ALL.
With the actual currency exchange, it’s 97.5 million EUR. If the ministry claims that the price that will be paid by Albanians is lower, they should publish the full agreement and Top Channel will report it.
For as long as this contract remains hidden by the Ministry, same as three other contracts of the health system, such as the ones for the dialysis, check-up, and sterilization. Until then, Top Channel will keep referring to the only official number published by the Ministry.
